Menu plan dates¶
Menu plan dates determine which Menu plan rotation day is used on which date.
Manipulating Menu Plan Dates¶
To start a rotation on a date of your choice, use the 'New Menu Plan Date' link on the Menu Plan Dates page. For example, let's start a new set of Menu plan dates on July 18th, 2013. Let's make it start on Rotation day 3, and leave all the other settings set to their default.
The result of this is
Just one menu plan date has been created. That's not super useful. Let's try again, and this time let's start on July 17th, 2013, on Rotation day 4. By ticking the Automatically adjust/create menu plan days for the following 30 days (out of rotation days will not be touched): box, the next 30 days will also be filled in.
This is the result of this operation:
July 18th has been adjusted to Rotation day 5.
Editing menu plan dates¶
August 1st is Swiss National Day, and we have a special Rotation day defined for that day. Let's make that change:
This results in
August 1st has been changed from Rotation day 7 to the special 'Swiss National Day' Rotation day.
What if we want to change the Rotation day for July 17th and all subsequent days? Easy, just click the edit button
for July 17th, and change the Rotation day to 'Day 2'. Also tick the Automatically adjust/create menu plan days for the following 30 days (out of rotation days will not be touched): box:
The result is as expected:
The special rotation day on August 1st has been left alone but it is now flanked by Day 4 and Day 5. If you'd rather skip over Day 5, you can edit August 2nd and change it to Day 6, ticking the Automatically adjust/create menu plan days for the following 30 days (out of rotation days will not be touched): box.
Manual housecount adjustments¶
While editing or creating a Menu Plan Date, it is possible to define the 'Lunch extra' or 'Dinner extra' field, and make those fields apply to an arbitrary number of subsequent Menu Plan Dates.
Let's assume that there is a group of 10 extra people who are not staying overnight, but are going to be eating lunch on two consecutive days - August 1st and August 2nd. Additionally, there are 20 people - not staying overnight - who will have dinner on August 1st. Here's how we would define that:
The result is as expected:
